Type Swimwear is all about body confidence. We believe that you can wear our swimsuits regardless of your age, size, shape, or body type. But we also understand that some of you will want to tone up and lose a little weight before hitting the beach. With that in mind, here are 10 bikini body workout tips that can help you achieve your goals.
Losing weight isn't like an exam: you can't cram a few days before or try to pull an all-nighter. Set goals that you can actually achieve, and you will maintain your motivation. There is nothing more disheartening than working out for weeks before your holiday and discovering that your bikini still doesn't fit. Aim to gradually become more trimmed and confident. Crash diets that send your weight plummeting are not sustainable: you're likely to be back at your previous weight a few days after your holiday.
Any time is a good time to work out, but early morning is ideal. A morning workout prevents you from procrastinating and gives you energy to tackle your day. Plan your meals and your shopping to minimize waste of perishable foods. A food diary can help you keep track of your essential nutrient intake and identify when you are snacking. If you can't find enough essential fatty acids in your diary or meal plans, you can take them as a supplement. Take the opportunity to learn new recipes packed with fresh and nutritious ingredients, such as lean meats, eggs, nuts (if you can eat them safely!), seeds, legumes, beans, and even oats. Simply switching your bread and pasta to wholegrain can make all the difference.
Arm and leg exercises give you confidence in your bikini
To be beach body ready, you need to work out your whole body, with weights and aerobic exercises. Building your muscles will burn energy even after your workout has finished, bringing you a little closer to your fitness goals. Combine your crunches with push-ups, leg raises, planks, and Russian twists.
Swimming, running, and cycling are all good sports for achieving your fitness goals, exercising your legs, core, heart, and arms. Running uphill is an extra workout for your core, while squats are necessary for your legs and glutes. The most efficient way to burn energy is in quick bursts followed by an easier pace. Try 30 seconds of hard-pushed activity, then 1.5 minutes at a gentler speed. Repeat for 20–30 minutes. To get the most from your workout, you'll need water before, during, and after.
Easy changes to help you on your way to the beach
Alcohol is packed with calories: just switching to flavored water can give you a head start in weight loss. Carbonation can make you look bloated, but sparkling water still only has 5% of the calories of cola. Switch milk chocolate for dark chocolate, ice cream for yogurt, and sweets for dried fruit. At Type Swimwear, we don't want you to compromise joy for a healthier body. Choose a sport that you can do with a friend and keep a workout diary in a book or on an app. The more you do, the easier it will be to make it a part of your routine.
Exercise should be an act of love for your body, not a punishment. Type Swimwear was founded by Ines, an architecture student who knew her heart was in fashion. Her vision was beautiful swimwear made from quality fabric, to bring self-confidence to the wearer. You deserve to be at the beach, looking and feeling your best.
